J iffy Lube gave the American Heart Association (AHA) more than one million reasons to keep fighting heart disease. The Houston-based automotive services franchisor announced that it raised a total of $1,111,784 through its annual Maintenance Partners for Life program, benefiting the AHA’s Go Red For Women campaign.
Bill Shockley, a Jiffy Lube franchisee in Maryland, said he had two family members affected by heart disease and the Maintenance for Life program has been a great help in raising awareness. "It allows us to educate our customers about heart disease prevention, while also raising funds to support research," he said. In return for a $3 donation, Jiffy Lube customers received coupon book with $100 worth of savings.
Since beginning the program in 2008, Jiffy Lube has donated nearly $3.5 million toward the AHA’s efforts. More than 1,700 Jiffy Lube locations participated in the campaign, with top contributors coming from stores in Arroyo Grande and Sacramento, California, and Pasco, Washington.
