Blackstone finalized its acquisition of Jersey Mike's in January 2025.
Throughout his 30-year career leading mega restaurant chains Pizza Hut, Wingstop and now Jersey Mike’s, CEO Charlie Morrison has stuck to his core values on how to drive sustainable growth.
“My philosophy centers on predictability and portability and creating systems that deliver consistent and exceptional experiences anywhere our brand operates. Throughout my career and while at Wingstop, I’ve seen how this approach drives sustainable growth,” he said.
Morrison took the reins from founder Peter Cancro last January after Cancro sold his sandwich company to private equity firm Blackstone.
Systemwide sales grew 39.2 percent from 2022 to 2024, hitting $3.7 billion, while 25.1 percent unit growth took the brand to 3,002 locations. Getting there took work.
“We invested heavily in three key areas: comprehensive training programs for franchisees, supply chain infrastructure to ensure our fresh ingredients reach every location and digital transformation to enhance the team member and guest experience,” Morrison said. “When you combine operational discipline, the right team and authentic community connection, accelerated growth follows.”
