In a continuing effort to abide by a "sustainable" model, Marriot is purchasing half of its seafood from responsible sources, according to USA Today’s Hotel Check-In blog.
The program was launched in June at its 780 hotels.
Guests may also notice new types of seafood on hotel menus, or a certain type of fish that's missing because it's not deemed "sustainable," the blog says.
Marriot had been studying the concept for about two years, and was motivated to create the "Future Fish" program because of philosophical concerns about global fish stocks from both chefs and consumers.
