Dallas-based franchisor Brinker International Inc. announced the sale of its On the Border Mexican Grill & Cantina brand to OTB Acquisition, an affiliate of San Francisco-based private equity firm Golden Gate Capital.
Brinker will provide OTB with corporate support throughout the transition process, which is expected to be complete by the end of fiscal 2011. Founded in 1974, Brinker owns and operates more than 1,700 restaurants, including Chili’s Grill & Bar and Maggiano’s Little Italy.
