Koteswara Aluri will open his first Boardwalk Fresh Burgers & Fries restaurant in April in Springfield, Virginia.
Aluri, who has restaurants in Virginia, Maryland, George, Pennsylvania and California, has plans to open four more Boardwalks in the near future.
Following the success of Five Guys Burgers & Fries, Aluri says he chose Boardwalk because of the burger’s "bigger size, the expanded menu and its clean and colorful ambience."
Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries and has exclusive rights to develop the concept in Fairfax County, Virginia.
Aluri also has investments in the hotel, financial and banking industries, a news release says.
Boardwalk Fresh Burgers and Fries shares a history with its sister Boardwalk Fries (the only national French fry brand in the United States), bringing with it 30 years of experience in the business. The founding brothers of Boardwalk Fries, Dave and Fran DiFerdinando founded the fresh burger franchise in 2007.
