Appalachian Underwriters Inc. (AUI) has formed a new franchise and affinity division to work with franchisors, associations and affinity groups in providing insurance for their members. Steve Shelton, founder of Franchise Insurance Specialists and former president of Sports & Fitness Insurance Corporation, will lead the division, which will develop insurance plans with franchisors, but distribute them through retail agents. The Franchise and Affinity Division will utilize AUI’s existing products and also create new products for franchise and association groups.
