This fast-casual restaurant chain is the creation of Debra Bryson and Don and Chris Newcomb, the same team that was behind McAlister's Deli. The first Newk's opened in 2004 and soon became a franchised chain. Today, Newk's units are concentrated primarily in the southern United States. Its corporate headquarters are in Jackson, Mississippi.
Beef ‘O’ Brady’s and Brass Tap parent company FSC Franchise Co. acquired Newk’s in November 2023.
