Scenthound is a holistic pet care and grooming franchise that ended 2024 with 125 locations.
To grow a brand sustainably, “you have to be solving a real problem,” said Scenthound CEO Tim Vogel. “It has to be purpose driven. We enrich the connection between people and their dogs.”
The “scent” in Scenthound stands for skin, coat, ears, nails and teeth. Routine checks at a grooming appointment can lead to identifying health concerns early and prolonging a dog’s life. Unit count and sales at Scenthound each grew by more than 220 percent over three years to put the brand on this list for the first time.
The brand’s location count is up by 86 from 2022 to 2024, from 39 to 125. Sales in 2024 hit $40 million, a 244.6 percent increase since 2022.

Hiring competent, experienced team members and franchisees has been essential to improving and growing Scenthound, Vogel said.
“Every new person that we bring in that’s preloaded with solutions helps us become a little bit smarter and educate the rest of us,” he said. “My job is to find the right partnerships that help us. … That is really the biggest challenge for us, finding the person that’s been there and done that.”
